LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The goal of the RESET for Wellness training is to enhance professionals abilities to assist their clients in building essential life skills, by using evidence-based techniques from the healing and expressive arts. By completing the training, participants will be able to:
1. To utilize a 5-step action plan to help their clients learn self-regulation skills and develop essential life skills through the healing and expressive arts.
2. To understand what relaxation techniques (breathing and centering techniques) are available to their clients and the benefits of each technique.
3. To understand the evidence-based techniques that can be helpful for specific challenging emotions and conditions.
4. To understand the value of having their clients take time to evaluate their internal state after applying the mindfulness and relaxation techniques so they can recognize the effect of the technique from direct experience.
5. To understand ways to use the expressive arts of bibliotherapy, journal therapy, and music therapy with clients.
6. To give their clients the opportunity to express themselves creatively through the expressive arts and creative self-expression.
