  • GAIN 7.5 CEs

  • Join us live online for this instructor-lead course for convenient access to the program and personalized instruction. The course is held once a month, on the first Friday of the month. Additional trainings may be scheduled according to demand. This course is experiential, so you will be invited to participate and try the techniques during the training so that you can experience the benefits before sharing them with clients. The course is also interactive, where group discussion and questions are welcome.

  • TARGET AUDIENCE

  • This program is for school psychologists who are working with high school students, ages 14-18. It is also appropriate for those who work with adults and families. This course has been reviewed by three school psychologists and includes a chart in the addendum indicating which techniques may be most helpful for students according to their age group.

  • LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • The goal of the RESET for Wellness training is to enhance professionals abilities to assist their clients in building essential life skills, by using evidence-based techniques from the healing and expressive arts. By completing the training, participants will be able to:

    1. To utilize a 5-step action plan to help their clients learn self-regulation skills and develop essential life skills through the healing and expressive arts.

     2. To understand what relaxation techniques (breathing and centering techniques) are available to their clients and the benefits of each technique.

    3. To understand the evidence-based techniques that can be helpful for specific challenging emotions and conditions.

    4. To understand the value of having their clients take time to evaluate their internal state after applying the mindfulness and relaxation techniques so they can recognize the effect of the technique from direct experience.

    5. To understand ways to use the expressive arts of bibliotherapy, journal therapy, and music therapy with clients.

    6. To give their clients the opportunity to express themselves creatively through the expressive arts and creative self-expression.

  • EVIDENCE-BASED CONTENT

(see infographic below).

Dianne Fanti has extensive education and experience, with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in branches of the Holistic Health Sciences, and certificates in more than 10 Healing and Expressive Art disciplines, like Journal Therapy and Music Therapy. She won 2 Community Service Awards from Maryland Department of Veterans in the 9 years that she directed Friends of the Homeless National Resource Center. She has trained the staff at Baltimore Crisis Response, and school psychologists at Moravia Park and Merganthaler High School in the RESET for Wellness Method, as well as holistic nurses in Broward County, Florida.
